Hastelloy C22

Hastelloy C22 alloy is an all-round nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy that provides better overall corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C22 alloy has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It has excellent anti-oxidation water medium capabilities, including wet chlorine, nitric acid or mixed acids containing chloride ions in oxidizing acids. At the same time, Hastelloy C22 alloy also has the ideal ability to resist the reducing and oxidizing environment encountered in the process. With this versatile performance, it can be used in some troublesome environments, or in a variety of production-purpose factories. Hastelloy C22 alloy has exceptional resistance to various chemical environments, including strong oxidizing substances such as ferric chloride, cupric chloride, chlorine, heat-contaminated solutions, formic acid, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, seawater and salt solutions. Hastelloy C22 alloy has the ability to resist the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat affected zone of welding, so that it can adapt to a variety of chemical process applications in the welding state.



Hastelloy C22 alloy is suitable for use in a variety of chemical process industries that contain oxidizing and reducing media. The higher content of molybdenum and chromium makes the alloy resistant to the attack of chloride ions, and the tungsten element further improves its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C22 is one of the only materials that are resistant to moisture corrosion by chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions. This alloy has significant corrosion resistance to high concentrations of chlorinated salt solutions (such as ferric chloride and Copper chloride).


Hastelloy C22 alloy has been widely used in chemical and petrochemical fields, such as in contact with components and catalytic systems containing chloride organics. This material is particularly suitable for use in high temperature, mixed with inorganic and organic acids such as formic acid and acetic acid, seawater, and corrosive environments.
