Hastelloy is an ultra-low carbon alloy composed of Ni, Mo, Cr series nickel bases. Because of its excellent high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, good long-term thermal stability and processability, it is used in harsh industrial environments such as agricultural chemicals, nuclear facilities, and biopharmaceuticals. It also has excellent corrosion resistance, uniform corrosion resistance, and resistance to intergranular corrosion in media of wet oxygen, sulfurous acid, acetic acid, formic acid, and strong oxidized salts. Therefore, it is also widely used in the chemical industry. Hastelloy The electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity are much lower than those of low carbon steel, while the electrical resistivity and expansion ratio are much higher than those of low carbon steel, and the melt pool has low fluidity, poor wettability, and penetrating power.Including nickel molybdenum Hastelloy B-2, nickel chromium molybdenum Hastelloy C-4 and so on.

Hastelloy C-4 is an austenitic low-carbon nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy. The major difference between Hastelloy C-4 and other early-developed alloys of similar chemical composition is the low carbon, silicon, iron, and tungsten content. This chemical composition gives excellent stability at 650-1040°C, improves resistance to intergranular corrosion, and can avoid edge line corrosion susceptibility and weld heat affected zone corrosion under proper manufacturing conditions.
